From vision and mission development to strategy planning,
leadership mentoring and coaching to conflict resolution and
project planning, it all comes down to the individual and their
role in, and working relationship with a team.
No matter what organisation you represent, it is the power of
the team, and the guidance and leadership that they are given
that will create success. Through our network of specialists, we
are able to assist with all aspects of team alignment,
leadership and coaching, as well as strategy development.
If you need to align your team behind a common
set of goals, whether that is an organisational strategy or
operational process, a professionally facilitated workshop
will get you there. The OutComm® Visual Mapping process limits
unnecessary discussion and group think, thereby speeding up the
meeting with a maximum of original thought and input… where all
the participants are actively involved and contributing to the
end results.
They work on their contributions simultaneously and because of
their participation and the democratic way in which decisions
are arrived at, there is a buy-in to the outcome, and therefore
commitment to the implementation of the action plans.
The process makes it difficult for a participant to dominate,
ensuring everyone remains focused on achieving the agreed
objectives without unnecessary emotion getting in the way.
This process has been successfully implemented in a wide range
of organisations, from charitable to financial institutions,
pharmaceutical to technology companies, government departments
to casino operators, and mining companies to radio stations.
The OutComm® Visual Mapping process was developed by the
BizComm®
Group, and is used across the globe, with centres of expertise
in South Africa, Australia and the United States of America.
The OutComm® visual mapping
process has been developed using international and local tools
and techniques. The process is practical, flexible and robust,
with 6 phases…
Brief
|
A comprehensive brief is taken with the client,
to determine the issue, the objectives and 'outcomes' or
deliverables required. This results in the development of the
workshop agenda and questions. |
| Divergent Thinking |
The OutComm® facilitator poses an 'open' ended
question, stimulating divergent and lateral thinking. The
responses to the question are written on oval cards using marker
pens. The cards are then gathered & clustered on the adhesive
sheets. |
| Analysis |
Once ideas which are similar have been
clustered on the sheets… a process of 'unpacking' and analysis
is often required to ensure common understanding and clarity of
the ideas (problems or solutions) - this may involve a rating or
matrix analysis |
| Convergent Thinking |
With a common understanding, the participants
may now prioritise, rank or sequence the ideas or solutions
using a number of processes including an anonymous voting
process. |
| Action Planning |
Action plans are then developed on the
prioritised solutions, using the headings…
"What steps? / "By whom?" / "By when" / "What measures?" |
| Report |
Digital photos are taken of the adhesive
sheets. A hard copy report detailing the workshop outcomes is
typed. The photos and the report are cut onto a CD (MS Word) and
delivered / couriered to the client within 7 working days of the
workshop. |
